Dermot Mulroney Joins 'Shameless' as Fiona's New Love Interest

The 'My Best Friend's Wedding' actor will recur as Fiona's new manager at Patsy's Pies in the fifth season of the Showtime series.

AceShowbiz - Dermot Mulroney has landed a new TV acting gig after his show "Crisis" was canceled by NBC. The 50-year-old joins Showtime's "Shameless" in a recurring role for its upcoming season 5.

He will play ex-bad boy and recovering addict Sean Pierce, who is Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) new manager at Patsy's Pies. According to the press release, their relationship turns flirtatious and their tension grows.

"Shameless" season 5 is currently in production for a 2015 premiere. It's unclear for how many episodes Mulroney has signed up to appear and in which episode he will make his debut on the show.

The actor, best known for his roles in films "My Best Friend's Wedding", "About Schmidt" and "Zodiac" among others, recently shared screen with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in "August: Osage County". He also played Francis Gibson, the main antagonist of NBC's short-lived drama series "Crisis" which premiered in March.
