July 6, 2014, 9:09 pm GMT

The newly-added cast members are chosen from over 67,000 hopefuls auditioning for the seventh installment of 'Star Wars' movie.

Two more stars are added to "Star Wars Episode VII". Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have officially landed roles in the highly-anticipated movie directed by J.J. Abrams. They were picked from over 37,000 hopefuls attending open casting that spanned 11 cities across the U.S. as well as the U.K. and from 30,000 online applicants.

"The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting 'Episode VII' we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film," said producer and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

Crystal is an American actress studying in Glasgow, U.K. She has both stage and screen acting experience and will be seen in her first feature, "The Moon and the Sun", due in 2015. Pip is a British actor and skilled practitioner of parkour. He recently demonstrated a remarkable skill in a "Spider-Man" ad for Sony.

"Episode VII" is slated for December 18, 2015 in the U.S. John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwendoline Christie are among the cast. They are joined by the original members like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher.

Filming takes place at Pinewood Studios in London after wrapping on location in Abu Dhabi in May. The crew will take a two-week hiatus in August while adjustments to the current production schedule are made as Harrison recovers from a leg injury. He is doing well and is looking forward to returning to the set soon. Shooting remains on track to wrap in the fall.
