AceShowbiz - The first official picture of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is unleashed. The Superman depicter wears his superhero costume. He looks gloomy standing in the rain with a dark city landscape in the background.

The film is currently filming in Detroit for a May 6, 2016 release. "It's not an un-fun job, I will say that," director Zack Snyder told USA Today, adding that he aimed at evolving Superman and enjoyed "the fun of trying to figure out what to put in front of him that's difficult."

According to the director, Cavill is more comfortable playing the iconic character in this upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel. "We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit," he explained. "The more time I spend with Henry, the more he's Superman to me."

"I was in no rush to put Batman in the movie," Snyder said of the other superhero, "but on the other hand it seemed organic the way our story was unfolding to start to feather him in." He added, "It's cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys."

He played coy when discussing the relationship between the two heroes "but suffice it to say there is a 'v' in between their names." The director said the "v" instead of "vs" was just a way "to keep it from being a straight 'versus' movie, even in the most subtle way."

"You can talk all you want about other superhero movies, but it's Batman and Superman, let's just be honest," Snyder said. "I don't know how you get bigger than that."

Amy Adams returns as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne reprises his role as Perry White, Ben Affleck is tapped as the Caped Crusader, Gal Gadot is cast as Wonder Woman, while Jesse Eisenberg is hired to play the villainous Lex Luthor.
