The 'Justified' star will reprise his role as transgender escort Venus Van Dam in the upcoming season 7.

"" is bringing back in the next season. Series creator Kurt Sutter announced the news on his Twitter page, writing, "I am very happy to report that in season 7 of SOA, THERE WILL BE SOME MUTHAF****N' VENUS!" referring to Goggins' transgender character Venus Van Dam.

The actor, who also stars as Boyd Crowder on FX's "", first appeared as the transgender escort in season 5. His character Venus helped the club blackmail someone. Goggins revealed he proposed the idea to play a transgender character to Sutter.

"He texted me while I was filming ['s ''] down in New Orleans, and he said, 'Were you serious?' " he recalled. "I said, 'About what?' He said, 'Are you going to play Venus Van Dam?' I said, 'Have you written it?' And he said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Send me the pages.' "

He told Entertainment Weekly, "And I just fell in love with her immediately. It was really important to both of us that we really go there, we make her a three-dimensional person with feelings. Sassy, sweet, smart, and beautiful."

He reprised the role in season 6, this time Venus sought help from SAMCRO to save her son from her child-porn-producer mother. Goggins, who recently guest starred on "", said in October, "I wouldn't be surprised if you see her again before this show is done. I'll just say that."

Kurt and his writing staff did such a good job of creating this woman who is as strong as they come and now simultaneously as vulnerable as they come. I just... I miss her. I missed her the day that we wrapped, and I miss her now. I hope to be six inches taller than some of the members of the gang on 'Sons of Anarchy' again, but we'll see."
