The Duchess of Cambridge recently visited Blessed Sacrament School to see the progress of a program, which she supported, aiming to help children of addicted parents.

AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton visited primary school children of Blessed Sacrament School in Islington, North London on July 1. The visit by the Duchess of Cambridge was intended to monitor the progress of M-PACT Plus program which she supported to help children who dealt with parents addiction.

The 32-year-old Duchess, who was welcomed by the children who were waving English flags, wore a beautiful coral dress with her hair styled in loose waves. After receiving flowers, she knelt down to directly talk with the children, who sat cross-legged at that time.

Report said that Kate asked the children about what was their favorite at school. A 4-year-old boy named Ezekiel said, "Lunchtime and playing." Another boy named Nathan said, "Books." Five-year-old T'shai expressed his excitement of seeing Kate, saying, "Because I've never seen a princess before."

The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry is working with Comic Relief and two other charities, which is supported by Kate, including Action on Addiction and Place2Be.

A spokesperson from Kensington Palace said, "The project had been driven by a personal interest by the Duchess. Through her patronage of Action on Addiction The Duchess has become aware of the shattering impact of addiction, not only on those addicted but also their families."

Because of the fact that children of addicted parents will develop addiction seven times more than their parents, Kate hoped that cycle could be broken by the program and the children could handle chalenges they would face in the future. The program was launched last year by Kate, who was still pregnant with her son Prince George at that time.

Kate also joined the meeting with a steering group consisted of head teachers and charity workers, discussing about the program. She asked the group after hearing the discussion, "Were the parents quite surprised by the things their children were saying?" The wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, also asked, "Have you found it difficult to attract parents given the stigma that can be associated with these issues?"

Before leaving the place, Kate received a Picasso-like drawing of Kate cradling Prince George from the students of Blessed Sacrament School.
