Composer Nathan Barr reveals that he has been working on a musical version of the supernatural drama, but he's not sure if it's going to head to Broadway.

AceShowbiz - "True Blood" may live beyond its 7-season run. While HBO already announced that the upcoming installment would be the last for the show, composer Nathan Barr has come up with an idea of a musical version of the show.
"This was something that I pitched to HBO and [series creator] Alan Ball," said Barr, who has composed instrumental scores for all seven seasons of the series, at the season 7 premiere party in Hollywood on Tuesday, June 17.
Barr went on sharing that the "True Blood" musical version would revolve around Sookie Stackhouse, who is portrayed by Anna Paquin on the TV series. "I think we're really going to try to return to the roots of the show," he added.
Star Stephen Moyer, who is also Paquin's husband, helped put together some samples of the proposed project to be presented to the network's execs and Ball. The plan is to present a workshop version in the next year.
Barr, however, is not sure if the "True Blood" musical is "Broadway bound." In fact, he said that "there's no guarantees, but I think the direction we're heading in is really exciting."
The special screening of "True Blood" season 7, which took place at TCL Chinese Theatre in California, was also attended by main cast members Paquin, Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, Rutina Wesley, Lauren Bowles, Kristin Bauer, Joe Manganiello, Chris Bauer and Deborah Ann Woll among others.
Michael Jackson's son Prince Jackson was among the celebrity guests, while Alexander Skarsgard, whose character's (Eric) fate is still unknown after he's burnt alive in the season 6 finale, was nowhere to be seen at the red carpet event.
The last season of the supernatural drama is set to debut Sunday, June 22 at 9/8c on HBO.
