AceShowbiz - The 30th Annual TV Critics Association Awards has announced this year's nominations. Among contenders in the list is AMC's "Breaking Bad" which had ended its five-season run last fall.
"Breaking Bad" has the chance to retain its Program of the Year trophy, competing with such shows as "The Good Wife", "Orange Is the New Black", "Game of Thrones" and "True Detective". The drama series starring Bryan Cranston is tied with "The Good Wife" with three nominations each.
For "Orange Is the New Black" and a slew of other series such as "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "The Fosters", this is the first time that they are being nominated at the awards event. Meanwhile, the familiar ones include "Louie", "The Big Bang Theory", "The Daily Show" and "Sesame Street".
TCA is a media organization comprised of TV critics, reporters, columnists, bloggers, etc. working in the U.S. and Canada. Every year they honor actors, producers and programs in a variety of categories, including news and information, youth, reality, drama and comedy achievements.
This year's ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
