'The Voice' Season 6 Winner 'Overwhelmed' by Victory

May 21, 2014, 3:57 am GMT

The Top 3 have a duet with Ed Sheeran, Robin Thicke and Alabama, with OneRepublic and Coldplay as other musical guests in the finale.

"The Voice" wrapped up its season 6 after announcing the winner on the Tuesday, May 20 finale. Some A-list stars took the stage to perform, but all eyes were on the Top 3 as one of them would come home as a champion with a recording contract with Universal Music Group and a $100,000 cash.

Usher had declared his protege Josh Kaufman a winner following his performance of Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" last night, and America apparently agreed with him. Josh beat out Christina Grimmie of Team Adam Levine and Jake Worthington of Team Blake Shelton, marking Usher's first win as a coach on the show. Jake finished second, and Christina was in the third place.

"I can't even talk," Josh said after his victory was announced, with his family joining him on stage at the end of the show. "I'm overwhelmed, surprised, happy, relieved." Due to a mistake in entering Josh's song "Set Fire to The Rain" on iTunes, votes by download were eliminated from the tally, but host Carson Daly said it did not change the overall outcome.

The night was filled with a bunch of musical performances, with OneRepublic, Ed Sheeran, Robin Thicke, Coldplay and Alabama taking the stages. The three finalists also had a chance to duet with some of these artists.
