David Alki, who claims he has rights to the hologram technology, says his own plan for a holographic Jackson performance will be ruined if the late King of Pop appears at the awards show.

AceShowbiz - Earlier this week, reports emerged suggesting that Michael Jackson would perform a new track at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards as a hologram. Now, the performance may be canceled thanks to a lawsuit that was filed by David Alki on Thursday, May 15.
Alki filed a lawsuit against Jackson's estate and production company as well as the producers of the Billboard Awards. He claims he has the rights to the hologram technology and he doesn't want his technology to be used to show a hologram of the late King of Pop.
According to the legal documents, a life-size, 3D image of Jackson will appear during the BMAs to perform a never-before-released song titled "Slave to the Rhythm". It will be based on the same technology that made Tupac Shakur hologram at the 2012 Coachella possible.
Alki says if Billboard insists to feature the late legend at the Sunday, May 18 ceremony, it will ruin his own plan for a similar holographic Jackson performance.
Jackson's team has commented on the lawsuit. Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for the star's estate, told TMZ, "This is another Alki David stunt, no different than his claiming that Brandon Howard was Michael Jackson's son. It is ludicrous ... and the show goes on."
