AceShowbiz - Barbara Walters has taped her last episode of "The View". The 84-year-old journalist welcomed back former co-hosts Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, Joy Behar, Lisa Ling, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell, who joined current co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy on the panel Thursday afternoon, May 15 for the taping of the episode that will air Friday at 11 A.M. on ABC.

The farewell episode was even starrier with Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Rodham Clinton and a bunch of female TV journalists, such as Diane Sawyer, Jane Pauley, Katie Couric, Connie Chung, Robin Roberts (II), Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales and Amy Robach, paying a surprise visit.

Winfrey praised Walters for paving the way for other female journalists after her, "You were the first in the room to knock down the door and pave the road we all walk on." The former daytime talk show queen added, "You shattered the glass ceiling for so many women... You're the reason I wanted to be in television."

Walters, in return, said that the younger women who came on the set was what she's proudest of her career. "These are my legacy," she said. "I have to remember this on the bad days, because this is the best."

The chat with Clinton was lighter as they discussed what she'd like to be called by her grandchild. Asked if she was going to run for president, she jokingly replied, "I am running ... around the park."

Michael Douglas, a 12-time guest on "The View", was also among the well-wishers, talking about his father Kirk Douglas and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. Asked to compare his kiss with Matt Damon in "Behind the Candelabra" and with Diane Keaton in upcoming movie "And So It Goes", the actor said, "Different flavored Chapstick."

In a heartfelt statement to end the show, Walters who kept the hour-long episode light with jokes said, "I will have time to get Botox... supermarket openings!" She added, "Now that it's all done, I can take a deep breath and enjoy my view."

Reminding viewers that she would remain a co-executive producer of "The View", she refused to say "goodbye." "Thank you, thank you ... But who knows what the future brings? Instead of 'Goodbye,' say, 'I'll be in touch....See you later," she said.
