AceShowbiz - FOX has ordered two more series. Just a day after giving the greenlight to "Gotham" series, the network has now picked up drama pilots "Red Band Society" and "Empire" to series.

"Red Band Society" from Margaret Nagle is an adaptation of the acclaimed Spanish hospital series "Polseres Vermelles". The dark comedy focuses on the daily lives of a group of teenagers living in a hospital who become unlikely friends.

Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer stars on the coming-of-age drama along with Dave Annable, Griffin Gluck, Charlie Rowe, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Zoe Levin. Nagle, who penned the pilot, is executive producing the series along with Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Sergio Aguero.

"Empire" hails from the helmer of "Lee Daniels' The Butler" and Danny Strong. It's described as a unique family drama set in the world of a hip-hop empire. Terrence Howard takes the lead role of Lucious Lyon, a charismatic, savvy music superstar who is about to take his company, Empire Entertainment, public. Raised on the streets, he has never backed away from a fight and will grazerresort to any measures, fair or foul, to defend his beloved Empire.

Taraji P. Henson joins the cast as Cookie Lyon, Lucious' ex-wife and former business partner. Strong, Daniels, Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo are on board as executive producers.

In addition to these two new projects and "Gotham", FOX has ordered Hart Hanson's "Backstrom" and Egyptian drama "Hieroglyph" to series.
