The Marvel movie officially passed the $200 million mark while the Johnny Depp-starrer took in a mere $11 million in its first weekend.

AceShowbiz - "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" continued to gain top bucks on weekend Box Office as "Transcendence" failed to even match its $100 million budget. The Marvel movie earned $25.6 million domestically in its third week and landed at number 1 while the Johnny Depp sci-fi thriller gained $10.9 million in its first week and sat at number four.

"Captain America" officially passed the $200 million mark domestically and $586.6 million worldwide. According to Deadline, this is the 12th Marvel film to cross that threshold. It has become the biggest April release when it earned more than $96 million domestically in its opening weekend.

"Transcendence", despite Depp's star power, has been receiving negative reviews since it opened on Thursday, April 17. The movie directed by cinematographer Wally Pfister became Depp's third underwhelming box-office performance after "The Lone Ranger" and "Dark Shadows".

"As we approach the summer movie season, box-office drawing power becomes more about the concept of the movie rather than its star," Rentrak senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian told the AP. "It may not have been so much [about] Johnny Depp, but audiences right now like brands that they know."

Meanwhile, "Rio 2" earned $22.2 million in its second week, *followed by religious-themes "Heaven Is for Real" with an estimated $22.5 million. Newbie "A Haunted House 2" rounded up the top 5 with an estimated $9.1 million.
