First Look at Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in 'Macbeth'
Movie

The portrayal of Macbeth and his scheming wife are teased in this adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic tale.

AceShowbiz - First official images from upcoming "Macbeth" have just arrived online via DailyMail. One of the pictures gives a first look at Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard playing key roles in the new take on the William Shakespeare tragedy, and the other photo teases a battlefield.

Directed by Justin Kurzel, the adaptation is set in the 11th century and centers on a ruthlessly ambitious Scottish lord named Macbeth, who seizes the throne with the help of his scheming wife and three witches. Jack Reynor and David Thewlis are among the supporting cast members.

Fassbender says all the cast will speak Scottish accent except for Cotillard. "We felt it would be unreasonable for her to put on a Scottish accent," explains the actor. "It would not be unreasonable to presume that her character spent time in the French court."

The movie is expected to be released in early 2015 in the U.K.
