Ed Sheeran Unveils Dates for Summer Arena Tour

The tour, which is launched to support Sheeran's 'X' album, will open in Seattle on August 22 and will include a two-night show at The Chelsea in Las Vegas.

is hitting the road this summer. On Monday, April 14, the 23-year-old singer unveiled the dates for his first-ever headlining arena tour of North America to support his upcoming album, "X" (pronounced "Multiply").

The tour, which has so far included 15 dates, will open on August 22 at Wamu Theater in Seattle. Sheeran will visit Vancouver before performing a two-night concert at The Chelsea in Las Vegas on August 29-30.

The British performer, who last year served as the opener on 's "Red" tour, is also slated to make tour stops in other U.S. cities before heading to Toronto's Air Canada Centre on September 18. Tickets go on sale on April 25. More dates are expected to be announced soon.

"X", marking Sheeran's second studio effort, is scheduled to be released on June 23. The follow-up to 2011's "" has spawned a hit called "Sing" which was produced by hitmaker . Sheeran recently promoted the album by performing the single and debuting a new track "Don't" during his appearance on "".
