AceShowbiz - One Direction has picked a track titled "You and I" to be the next single off their latest album, "Midnight Memories". The British/Irish five-piece announced the single in a video posted on social media on Friday, April 11.
The brief clip features appearances from Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. "We are very excited to announce that our new single is 'You and I'," Styles says. "This one's for you, so I hope you like it."
"You and I" is a ballad that was co-written by Julian Bunetta, Jamie Scott and John Ryan, the same people behind their successful "Story of My Life" which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard 100. A music video for the new single has already been shot by director Ben Winston and is planned to be released on Friday, April 18.
Payne is now readying a remix to "You and I". He recently teased it with a snippet posted on One Direction's SoundCloud page.
"Midnight Memories", marking One Direction's third studio album, landed at No. 1 on Billboard 200 following its release late last year. In addition to the new single and "Story of My Life", the record has spawned title track "Midnight Memories" and lead cut "Best Song Ever".
