Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley avoid ripping each other when accepting the honor at the induction ceremony.

AceShowbiz - The founding members of KISS put aside their differences for 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Despite their heated dispute in the past few months, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley took the stage together to receive the honor at the induction ceremony.

Criss was the first to speak during the acceptance speech. He thanked "the grips to the truck drivers" to the "doctor that saved me from breast cancer." Although he's no longer in the band, the former drummer said, "In and out of make-up, I will always be the catman."

Guitarist Frehley took the mic next, "When I was 13 years old and picked up my first guitar, I always figured I'd be into something big. Life's been good to me. Hopefully, I got another 10 or 20 years to go." Simmons added, "We wouldn't be here today without the original fantastic four."

Stanley who in the past accused his former bandmates of anti-semitism also kept it civil, opting to focus on celebrating the night with their fans, "Here we are tonight, inducted basically for the things we were left out for." He, however, made snide remarks at Hall of Fame organizers, "The people buy albums. The people who nominate do not."

The band was inducted by Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello who said, "KISS was never a critics' band. KISS was a people's band." The band's current members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer also came to the event to support their pals. They were seen sitting near former guitarist Bruce Kulick.

The other honorees included Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall and John Oates, The E Street Band, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham. All of the inductees, except for KISS and Linda Ronstadt, made live performances that night.

KISS couldn't perform due to line-up dispute. Simmons was not happy that it was the original, yet former members, who got honored. Meanwhile, Frehley and Criss made it clear they would boycott the event if the current members took the stage for a performance. Later in the press room, Frehley said, "It wasn't my choice (to not perform). I wanted to do it. But at the end of the day we're still brothers in rock and roll."

The guests coming to the event taking place on April 10 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NYC were Carrie Underwood, Coldplay's Chris Martin, and Sheryl Crow among others.
