ACM Awards 2014: Florida Georgia Line Wins Vocal Duo of the Year

ACM Vocal Event of the Year is given to Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert for their hit 'We Were Us', while 'Highway Don't Care' wins ACM Video of the Year.

AceShowbiz - The 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards is currently taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with some country music artists taking the stage at the Sunday, April 6 awards show. Some stars who performed at the event included Eric Church with "Give Me Back My Hometown" and Lee Brice who sang "I Drive Your Truck".

Two awards were already announced during the pre-telecast show. Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert's "We Were Us" won ACM Vocal Event of the Year trophy that night. The duo's hit defeated other artists' works such as "Boys 'Round Here" by Blake Shelton featuring Pistol Annies & Friends, "Cruise (Remix)" by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly, "Highway Don't Care" from Tim McGraw featuring Taylor Swift and Urban as well as "Wagon Wheel" from Darius Rucker featuring Lady Antebellum.

The winner for ACM Video of the Year award was also announced at the pre-telecast event. "Highway Don't Care" from McGraw featuring Swift and Urban was announced as the winner of the category. Other videos which were nominated in the group are The Band Perry's "Better Dig Two", Kacey Musgraves's "Blowin' Smoke", Brice's "I Drive Your Truck", Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart" and Carrie Underwood's "Two Black Cadillacs".

One hour into the show, Florida Georgia Line was announced as the winner of Vocal Duo of the Year. "Maaaaaaaaaan! We are always blown away with ANY recognition or awards but we feel very very loved tonight. You guys are a BLESSING," the duo said on Twitter post after receiving their trophy.
