The newly greenlit shows include sci-fi drama 'The After' from 'The X-Files' creator, dark comedy 'Transparent' starring Jeffrey Tambor and two children's shows.

AceShowbiz - Amazon is adding more original shows to its line-up. The online giant has picked up six new series which were chosen after customers watched some of the pilots. Their responses and comments helped determine which shows should get the full-season order.
Among the greenlit series is "The After" from "The X-Files" creator Chris Carter. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama revolves around eight strangers who must work together to survive in a violent world "that defies explanation." Jamie Kennedy, Adrian Pasdar and more star on it.
The second new show is dark comedy/drama "Transparent" about an L.A. family with serious boundary issues. It stars Jeffrey Tambor as a dad who plans to come out as transgender to family members.
There's also "Bosch" based on the best-selling book series by Michael Connelly. The hour-long drama written by Connelly and Eric Overmyer centers on a Los Angeles homicide detective who is chasing the killer of a teenage boy while standing trial himself on charges he murdered a serial killer.
Also coming on Amazon is "Mozart in the Jungle", a comedic drama about sex, drugs and classical music. It offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at a fictional Manhattan symphony orchestra.
The company additionally picked up two children's shows, "Gortimer Gibbon's Life on Normal Street", a live-action series for ages 6-11, and "Wishenpoof!", a show for preschoolers written by "Blue's Clues" creator Angela Santomero.
Amazon has also renewed its original series "Alpha House" starring John Goodman for a second season. The political comedy has garnered over 6,000 five-star reviews during its first season.
"Now the fun really begins - Amazon will be working with some of the most talented casts and creators in the business to bring six new shows exclusively to tens of millions of Prime members worldwide," says Roy Price, director of Amazon Studios. "These series, along with our summer kids programming, will give customers a lot of viewing choices."
