Courtney Love Shares Theory on Missing Malaysian Plane

Love posts a photo of an ocean view on Facebook, writing, 'I'm no expert, but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick.'

More than a week after the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 went missing, believes that she has found a lead for the search. Love used a website called Tomnod to try find clues about the plane's whereabouts and posted the result in a Facebook post.

On Monday, March 17, Love uploaded a photo of an ocean view and wrote, "I'm no expert but up close this does look like a plane and an oil slick." She added, "Prayers go out to the families #MH370 and [it's] like a mile away Pulau Perak, where they 'last' tracked it."

The former frontwoman then told Daily Intelligencer that she was curious about the plane's whereabouts. "Yeah I went to the satellite site and just uploaded tons and tons of pictures. I really doubt aliens took it. It's got to be somewhere. I'm a little obsessive," she admitted.

"I saw an article asked people to help search on Tomnod.com so I decided to give it a shot," she explained. "I figured a plane would still be leaking some fuel so I searched for signs of an oil slick. I found one and there appeared to be an object nearby. I don't know if it is the plane or not, but I figured I'd do my part and bring some awareness to the site, for the sake of all the families involved."

"I hope they find the plane, I pray they're still alive, it's sad and my heart goes out to all those involved," Love continued saying. "It's the least I can do."

The plane flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, carrying 239 passengers on board. It went missing on March 8. "All right, good night," the co-pilot told air traffic controllers before the plane disappeared from radar.
