Three new series will be attached to veteran shows such as 'Rizolli and Isles' in hope to gather viewers.

AceShowbiz - TNT is departing from crime dramas domination this summer with new projects from Steven Bochco, Michael Bay and the producers of "Homeland". The cable network has revealed its summer schedule which is filled with nine original dramas and 10 series overall.
One of its strongest performer "Rizzoli & Isles" will return for the fifth season on June 17, being paired with the third season premiere of "Perception". Meanwhile, newbie "Murder in the First", which is starring Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, is expected to benefit from the third season premiere of "Major Crimes" on June 9.
The other two new series, "The Last Ship" and "Legends", are paired with "Falling Skies" and "Franklin & Bash" respectively. Noticeably TNT put a variety of shows into the network's summer schedule. Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, told Variety, "It's a wonderful mix of old and new partners we're working with ...people known for making quality television. This really helps us burnish the brand."
He added, "We love our crime dramas, but we're now programming in several genres... crime, mystery, suspense, action adventure. They (the programs) are all designed to deliver a similar experience to the audience. It's kind of a nice moment and evolution of a network to where it's one network seven days a week."
