'Captain America 3' to Open Against 'Man of Steel 2' in 2016

One of the untitled Marvel projects in 2016 is actually the third installment of 'Captain America' movie series, ultimately pitting it against Superman vs. Batman film.

There will be a big showdown between Marvel and DC in 2016. THR unveils that the untitled Marvel project I which is listed for May 6, 2016 is actually "Captain America 3", meaning the Cap will face off "" which brings together Superman and Batman. Marvel also has an untitled Marvel project II due July 8 that year, which is yet to be revealed.

In a press junket for "", producer Kevin Feige previously said they had no plan to shift the date. "We're certainly keeping the date there," he said, "and we'll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months."

While Marvel's flick will be led by , the DC movie is boosted by as Superman, as Batman, as Wonder Woman and as Lex Luthor. The director of the first film, Zack Snider, reprises his role in this sequel which was originally due July 17, 2015 but delayed due to script rewrite by Chris Terrio ("").

Meanwhile, Anthony and Joe Russo who directed the second "Captain America" film confirmed they would return for the third installment of the series. "We're just in the formative stages of it right now. We just started breaking story with Markus and McFeely and we're just getting an idea of what we wanna do with it," they spilled the beans.

Between the second which is due April 4 this year and the third one, "" is set to fill the gap in 2015. It is slated for May 1, 2015. Evans will reprise his role as the heroic superhero in this one. Due to 's pregnancy, Marvel "fast-tracked" the filming with the Black Widow scheduled to begin filming her scenes next month.

She told Huffington Post, "Everything for Avengers 2 -- we're full steam ahead." "We start shooting in three weeks and I'm stunt training and we're good to go," she added. "Everything is going just fine. The Black Widow always wins and will continue to."
