The recently aired episode titled 'Farewell to Storyville' marks Holt's last appearance as series regular on the CW show.

AceShowbiz - "The Originals" bid adieu to one of its cast members. Various sites report that Claire Holt has exited the show and it's confirmed with the storyline in the latest episode aired on Tuesday, March 11 titled "Farewell to Storyville", which saw [SPOILER ALERT!] Holt's Rebekah being freed by her brother Klaus and driving away in her red convertible.

BuzzFeed said that it was Holt's decision to leave "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off and that she never intended to play Rebekah for as long as she did. The door, however, remains open for her to return as a guest star.

The CW greenlit "The Originals" following the characters' growing popularity after they were first introduced on "The Vampire Diaries". The network has renewed the spin-off series for a second season. Holt may return as early as this season, but sources say season two appearance seems more likely.

"The Originals" will return with a new episode, "Moon Over Bourbon Street", on Tuesday, March 18 at 8/7c on The CW. After accusing Klaus of doing nothing while their control over the Quarter crumbles, Elijah makes a move to take matters into his own hands. He receives an intriguing offer of support from Francesca (guest star Peta Sergeant), a beautiful woman from a powerful New Orleans family.

In an attempt to bring the warring factions of the city together, the Mikaelsons throw an extravagant party, where Klaus offers Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) a tempting deal, Elijah and Hayely share a dance, and a violent fight comes to a surprising end. Finally, even as Marcel works on a new path to power, he continues to help Cami deal with her Uncle Kieran's tragedy (guest star Todd Stashwick).
