'Raising Hope' Cast Thanks Fans After Cancellation Announcement

The comedy series will end with a one-hour series finale on April 4 with Lesley Nicol as a guest star and Jeffrey Tambor returning as Virginia's father.

"" is coming to an end. FOX has decided not to renew the comedy, making the current fourth season as the last season as well. The show will close the curtain on Friday, April 4 at 9 P.M. with an hour-long series finale.

After the cancellation was made official, star took to Twitter to thank fans, cast mates and crew members. "Thanks for watching! Thanks to the writers, directors, cast mates + fans who made it possible. Goodbye, Jimmy," he wrote on Monday, March 10.

Executive producer Mike Mariano said in a statement, "On behalf of myself, Greg Garcia and Raising Hope's amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons. We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we've chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we'll see you in syndication."

Kevin Reilly, chairman of Entertainment and Joe Earley, chief operating officer at Fox Broadcasting Co., added, "Getting to know and love the Chance family on Raising Hope has been a sweet, hilarious ride. Thanks to the incredibly talented cast - along with Greg, Mike and the entire crew - for making us laugh for four fantastic seasons."

The one-hour farewell event will kick off with "How I Met Your Mullet" which features guest star Lesley Nicol ("") as Jimmy (Neff) and Sabrina's (Shannon Woodward) new maid. The second half-hour, "The Father Daughter Dance", will see reprising his role as Virginia's () father and include a musical performance by .

"Raising Hope", created by Greg Garcia, debuted in September 2010. It has averaged 2.7 million viewers this season so far and a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demo.
