'Entourage' cast members are scheduled to help hand out the special prize to the 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' actor.

AceShowbiz - Mark Wahlberg is picked as a special honoree at the upcoming 23rd annual MTV Movie Awards set at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 13, at 9 P.M. EST. The actor is going to be feted with Generation Award for his accomplishments in the entertainment business.

The cast of HBO's "Entourage" is on hand to present the award to the "Ted" star. The awards show will mark the first time cast members Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara reunite on screen before the movie version hits theaters.

The series is loosely based on Wahlberg's experience as an up-and-coming actor. The "Transformers: Age of Extinction" actor serves as an executive producer for the feature film and is expected to make a cameo appearance.

"Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man... in front of the camera and behind -- he's done it all and he's always memorable. Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over twenty years, and for this rare feat, we're proud to recognize him with this year's Generation Award," says MTV's president Stephen Friedman.

Conan O'Brien will host the event. "American Hustle" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" dominate the nominations with eight nods each, and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" follows with seven and "We're the Millers" with six.

Not everyone is happy with the list. The fans of "Hustle" and "Catching Fire" star, Jennifer Lawrence, recently launched a petition on Care2 demanding her to be added to Best Hero nomination for her role in "Catching Fire". More than 10,000 signatures have already been collected.

Males dominate the category. The initial candidates are Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman in "Man of Steel", Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man in "Iron Man 3", Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", Chris Hemsworth as Thor in "Thor: The Dark World", and Channing Tatum as John Cale in "White House Down".

"Young women already have too few female heroes represented in film and television," the petition reads. "We're constantly shown by the entertainment industry that men are brave, powerful, or successful, while women are often given supporting roles and weak characters."
