Mark Wahlberg to Receive Generation Award at 2014 MTV Movie Awards

'Entourage' cast members are scheduled to help hand out the special prize to the 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' actor.

is picked as a special honoree at the upcoming 23rd annual MTV Movie Awards set at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, April 13, at 9 P.M. EST. The actor is going to be feted with Generation Award for his accomplishments in the entertainment business.

The cast of HBO's "" is on hand to present the award to the "" star. The awards show will mark the first time cast members , , and reunite on screen before the movie version hits theaters.

The series is loosely based on Wahlberg's experience as an up-and-coming actor. The "" actor serves as an executive producer for the feature film and is expected to make a cameo appearance.

"Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man... in front of the camera and behind -- he's done it all and he's always memorable. Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over twenty years, and for this rare feat, we're proud to recognize him with this year's Generation Award," says MTV's president Stephen Friedman.

"Young women already have too few female heroes represented in film and television," the petition reads. "We're constantly shown by the entertainment industry that men are brave, powerful, or successful, while women are often given supporting roles and weak characters."
