The 18-date tour will open on June 19 at Chicago's United Center and conclude on July 20 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington D.C.

AceShowbiz - Adam Lambert is set to reunite with Queen for a North American tour this summer. Along with the British band's Brian May and Roger Taylor, the "American Idol" alum made the announcement during a press conference at New York's Madison Square Garden on Thursday, March 6.

Lambert has played with Queen at several events in the recent years, but this will be his first official tour with the group. He will once again fill in for frontman Freddie Mercury who passed away in 2001.

The band will kick off their 18-date tour on June 19 at Chicago's United Center. They will bring it to Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, New York and other cities before wrapping it up on July 20 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington D.C.

During the press conference, May talked about working with Lambert and praised him, saying, "People are going to ask whether it's Queen without Freddie. I don't know. We just want to go out there one more time. Adam isn't an imitator. We're going into new territory."

Taylor added, "Adam is the most incredible frontman. He's a great diva, and I mean that in the best possible way. We need that theatrically."

Lambert has also shared his excitement in a statement that read, "I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in North America is so beautifully surreal."

"I'm honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory; he's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display," the statement continued.
