'Gravity' and 'The Hobbit 2' Lead Movie Nominations for 2014 Saturn Awards

'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', 'Iron Man 3', 'Her', and 'Thor: The Dark World' also score multiple nods at the 40th annual awards show.
'Gravity' and 'The Hobbit 2' Lead Movie Nominations for 2014 Saturn Awards

The nominees selected by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for the upcoming 40th annual Saturn Awards have been revealed. In movie category, "" and "" dominate the pack with multiple nods along with "".

"Gravity" is vying for Best Sci-Fi, facing off "Catching Fire", "", "", "", and "". Meanwhile, "The Hobbit 2" is up for Best Fantasy Film along with "", "", "", "", and "".

In the comic book adaptation, three movies based on Marvel's properties, "", "", and Fox's "", are nominated along with Warner Bros.' "", which is the latest take on DC Comics' Superman.

Best Actress contenders include "Gravity" female lead and "Catching Fire" heroine , while Best Actor nominees include "" star and "" hunk among others.

The winners will be announced in June in Burbank, California.
