'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', 'Iron Man 3', 'Her', and 'Thor: The Dark World' also score multiple nods at the 40th annual awards show.

AceShowbiz - The nominees selected by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for the upcoming 40th annual Saturn Awards have been revealed. In movie category, "Gravity" and "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" dominate the pack with multiple nods along with "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire".
"Gravity" is vying for Best Sci-Fi, facing off "Catching Fire", "Pacific Rim", "Ender's Game", "Riddick", and "Star Trek Into Darkness". Meanwhile, "The Hobbit 2" is up for Best Fantasy Film along with "About Time", "Her", "Oz: the Great and Powerful", "Jack the Giant Slayer", and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".
In the comic book adaptation, three movies based on Marvel's properties, "Iron Man 3", "Thor: The Dark World", and Fox's "The Wolverine", are nominated along with Warner Bros.' "Man of Steel", which is the latest take on DC Comics' Superman.
Best Actress contenders include "Gravity" female lead Sandra Bullock and "Catching Fire" heroine Jennifer Lawrence, while Best Actor nominees include "Iron Man" star Robert Downey Jr. and "World War Z" hunk Brad Pitt among others.
The winners will be announced in June in Burbank, California.
