The 'Heroes' alum and the 'Revenge' star are cast in the ABC pilot from executive producer Steven Spielberg.

AceShowbiz - Milo Ventimiglia and Barry Sloane welcome "The Visitors". The two actors have landed lead roles in the ABC alien drama pilot, from executive producer Steven Spielberg, which is described as a race against the clock to defeat an unseen alien enemy out to destroy the world using the Earth's most precious resource: children.
Ventimiglia, who was recently seen on TNT's short-lived series "Mob City" from Frank Darabont, will play John Doe/Drew Bennigan, a guy covered in strange tattoos and diagrams and speaks in a strange language who is found unconscious in a D.C. alleyway.
When he wakes up, he discovers he's lost his memory. Determined to figure out his life, he follows the clues of his tattoos to learn he's Drew Bennigan, the missing husband of key character Claire, and is now forced to live a life he doesn't remember as he fights to regain his memory or cross over to the enemy's side.
Ventimiglia turned down multiple offers this pilot season before agreeing to take the aforementioned role.
As for Sloane whose casting was reportedly earlier, he will play Wes Lawrence, a married father and former FBI agent who is working on the special projects division of the Defense Department.
He investigates military threats that are best solved outside the public's knowledge. Assigned to investigate a shocking discovery in the Algerian desert, he finds himself embroiled in history's most explosive event - the realization that we are not alone in this world.
This leads him to delve deep into the murky, dirty battlefield of politics in order to get the world to take action. He joins forces with Claire, which has yet to be cast, the woman he once had an affair with.
Sloane is currently a series regular on ABC's soap opera "Revenge" on which he plays Aiden Mathis. Should the network move forward with "The Visitors", his "Revenge" character story arc may end soon, but his future with the hit show is still being determined.
Soo Hugh ("Under the Dome") will write the pilot with Mark Romanek on board to direct. Spielberg is joined by Dawn Olmstead, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank as executive producers. Derek Webster will also star in the drama pilot.
