Shakira Records 'Country, Folk Song' With Blake Shelton for Her New Album

The Latin singer also talks about her role as a coach on NBC's 'The Voice' and working with Rihanna in their controversial video when visiting 'On Air With Ryan Seacrest'.

has announced that country superstar will make a guest appearance in her upcoming self-titled album that's arriving on March 25. The Latin singer revealed the exciting news when she visited "On Air With " on Tuesday, February 11.

"We just [recorded it] - it's a country, folk song," she said of the song they worked together on. "I kind of directed him. I wrote the song with some people from Nashville and I sent it to him and I was super-nervous."

"I was like, 'Oh my God. What's he going to think?' And he loved it. He said, 'Wow! This is exactly what you were talking about. I love this song,' " she added.

After recording a song together, Shakira and Shelton are gearing up to reprise their roles as coaches on "". The new season of NBC's popular singing competition is set to begin on February 24.

"I think the chemistry is better than ever," Shakira, who coached the show for the first time in its fourth season, said of rejoining Shelton, and . "I'm having fun ... [although] Adam [gets on my nerves the most] because he's so competitive! And Usher is like Switzerland, he's a little more neutral. And Blake can get on my nerves too, but he's too funny."

During the interview, Shakira also talked about the sexy music video for her -assisted single "Can't Remember to Forget You". Some viewers slammed the clip that features the two singers showing off some provocative moves in front of the camera.

Shakira said on the radio show that she knew her video "was going to be a little controversial." When asked if her boyfriend Gerard Pique knew about the concept of the video, she replied, "I told him. I asked him if he agreed with everything and he agreed ... I wanted to make sure because he's super jealous. He's territorial. He wants to know everything is under control."
