HBO dominates the winner list in TV field, with 'Veep' taking home the third award for the cable channel in Half Hour Single-Camera Television Series category.

AceShowbiz - "Behind the Candelabra" and "Game of Thrones" were among top winners at the 18th annual Art Directors Guild Awards held Saturday evening, February 8 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The former nabbed a prize in Television Movie or Mini-Series category, while the latter won over other one-hour single camera television series.
"This means a lot, obviously," said Howard Cummings who accepted the award for "Candelabra". "It took five years to get this off the ground. I have to thank [director Steven] Soderbergh, who kept hiring me until the film got made. Five years to get it off the ground, five weeks to get it done. You can't do that by yourself."
HBO took home its third prize that night with "Veep" victory. The Julia Louis-Dreyfus-starring comedy won in Half Hour Single-Camera Television Series. This way, the premium cable channel topped other networks in term of number of trophies it won from the awards event.
"Portlandia" (Multi-Camera, Variety, or Unscripted Series) and "Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome" (Short Format, Live Action Series) were among other winners in TV field. The ceremony hosted by comedian/actor Owen Benjamin also presented awards to movies, including "The Great Gatsby", "Gravity" and "Her".
Martin Scorsese recevied Cinematic Imagery Award which was presented by his "The Wolf of Wall Street" stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill. Academy Award-winning production designer Rick Carter, meanwhile, was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award.
"We're here to talk about our idol," Hill said when introducing Scorsese. "I want to say that when thinking about presenting this award to you, I thought about my favorite scenes of your work; they were scenes I couldn't get out of my head. My favorite being Rupert Pupkin's fake talk show set."
Taking the stage, Scorsese said, "It's very moving. I thank the ADG for this award. It's really moving. It's been a crazy time." Mentioning some of his collaborators including Rick Carter and Bob Shaw, he added, "How does one even separate cinema from PD? You can't. ... We have images in our mind, pictures in our head, but yours are the ones I look to to get those images on the screen. You've never let me down. This [award] is for you."
