'American Horror Story: Coven' Finale Preview: Finding the Next Supreme

January 23, 2014, 6:51 am GMT

After the bloody penultimate episode, the horror series will return with 'The Seven Wonders' where the witches gather in trials to find the new Supreme.

All the bloodsheds on "American Horror Story: Coven" lead to the rise of a new Supreme in next week's finale. After one last meal together as equals, the girls face the test of the Seven Wonders at dawn to find who will be the new leader, a witch who Cordelia hopes "can lead the way out of an era of strife and chaos, towards repair and rejuvenation."

But the witches are still far from living in peace as each girl believes she could be the next Supreme. Tragedy strikes as the trials go very wrong, with Zoe seemingly haunted by her past. Cordelia, meanwhile, continues to have visions of bad things.

Later, as the new Supreme finally rises, she finds herself having to begin her reign by performing a heartbreaking task. And finally, before the Coven can return to strength and prominence, there is one last piece of unfinished business for the new Supreme to attend to.

"The Seven Wonders" will air Wednesday, January 29 at 10 P.M. on FX. It follows up the bloody penultimate episode, where [SPOILER ALERT!] more characters were killed off, including Jessica Lange's Fiona and Danny Huston's The Axeman.
