'The Raid 2: Berandal' Gets New Action-Packed Trailer

A lot of bone-crunching combats that feature Hammer Girl, Baseball Bat Man and Rama fill the newly-released sneak peek.

As "" premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Tuesday, January 21, a new trailer for the sequel to 2011's Indonesian martial arts film "" arrives online to tide fans over before the theatrical release on March 28. It shows Rama (Iko Uwais) going undercover and taking on the entire underworld.

The video offers a lot of new action footage that includes Hammer Girl and her brother Baseball Bat Man. In a newly-released trading card, it's explained that he saved her from an abusive father and broken home, and together they "make their way through life as a formidable duo of hired assassins, able to work alone and in tandem as an unstoppable team."

A duel set in a kitchen between Rama and a strong male opponent played by renowned silat practitioner Cecep Arif Rahman is also teased in the trailer. The two are clashing in an intense battle. "That fight I still get goosebumps watching it. Iko and Cecep gave everything they had for it," director Gareth Evans commented.

Arifin Putra, Alex Abbad, Oka Antara, Tio Pakusadewo, and Julie Estelle are among the cast. Yayan Ruhian who played Mad Dog, the violent criminal who challenged Rama in one last battle in the first film, returns as a new character in this second one.

Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films distribute "The Raid 2" in North America. According to Evans, the sequel takes place two hours after the first one, and the next film "" will start two hours before the second movie ends.

Another action movie from Evans has also found a U.S. distributor at the Sundance. On Sunday, it was reported that Radius and The Weinstein Company had bought rights to "" which will be produced by Evans and directed by Timo Tjahjanto.

"Redemption" star Joe Taslim will play a mobster who returns to his local crime family in Jakarta only to find himself trapped in a word of betrayal and chaos. Ruhian joins the cast, and Uwais will be choreographing the action scenes.
