2014 SAG Awards: 'American Hustle' Takes Top Honor
Movie

Represented by Bradley Cooper, the cast ensemble thanked their director David O. Russell for being the 'reason'.

AceShowbiz - The 20th annual SAG Awards wrapped up with the announcement of "American Hustle" as Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Bradley Cooper spoke on behalf of the cast ensemble, giving praise to the movie's director, David O. Russell. "He is an actor's director!" Cooper gushed. "He is the reason why we all wanted to become actors as children."

Earlier, Matthew McConaughey won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club". "I've been able to recently find some characters I could humble myself to their humanities and then get feverishly drunk on their obsessions," the actor said after his win, comparing it to a trip to the space. This is his first SAG Awards win.

Taking the Female Actor in a Leading Role was Cate Blanchett for "Blue Jasmine". She joked in her acceptance speech, "Matthew McConaughey spoke about Neptune, I can have five seconds!" She eventually took longer than that, saying "Thank you to those who voted for me. For those who didn't, better luck next year."

This is her third SAG win following her role as Katharine Hepburn in Martin Scorsese's 2004 movie "The Aviator" and as a member of the "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" ensemble.
