AceShowbiz - More winners have been unveiled at the ongoing Golden Globe Awards. Following Jacqueline Bisset, Elisabeth Moss and Bryan Cranston's victory, Robin Wright Penn, Andy Samberg and Michael Douglas snatched a prize each at the show.
The former won Best Performance by an Actress in a TV series, Drama trophy for her role on Netflix's "House of Cards". She successfully edged out other favorites like Julianna Margulies and Kerry Washington in addition to Tatiana Maslany and Taylor Schilling.
"Saturday Night Live" alum Samberg was dubbed best actor in a TV series, comedy or musical, thanks to his new sitcom "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". He defeated other strong contenders including last year's winner Don Cheadle, Jason Bateman, Jim Parsons and Michael J. Fox.
Douglas later added another trophy to "Behind the Candelabra" winning list. Edging out his own co-star Matt Damon, he jokingly said the only reason Damon wasn't up there was because "I had more sequins." Other nominees in the categories were Chiwetel Ejiofor for "Dancing on the Edge", Idris Elba for "Luther" and Al Pacino for "Phil Spector". The HBO TV movie was earlier named Best Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Jon Voight was another winner at the event. The veteran actor won an award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television through his role on Showtime's new hit series "Ray Donovan", beating out Aaron Paul and Rob Lowe among others. Despite winning his fourth Golden Globe, he said he's as nervous as everybody who won that night.
