The Jamaican beauty will start working on her major label debut album early next year.

AceShowbiz - Tessane Chin is not a new face in music industry, but she came to prominence after winning the fifth season of popular singing competition "The Voice". Mentored by Adam Levine, she beat teammate Will Champlin who came in the third place and Christina Aguilera's protege Jacquie Lee who finished second.

Chin was born in Jamaica to parents who introduced her to music at a very young age. At 12, she moved to England and spent times writing songs. When returning to her hometown, she joined a rock reggae band called Mile High.

She also served as a back-up singer for fellow Jamaican artist Jimmy Cliff. They toured together for three years before Chin decided to focus on her solo career and eventually joined "The Voice".

After winning the show, the 28-year-old singer stormed Billboard 100 chart with her songs. She first entered the chart with her performance of Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water". It peaked at No. 64.

Now, her cover of Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" has just landed at No. 51 while her duet of The Beatles' "Let It Be", with coach Levine, hits No. 76.

Chin, who is now signed to Universal Music Group, will start working on her major label debut album early next year.
