AceShowbiz - The Roots' singer Questlove has apologized for offensive Instagram posts that mocked Japanese people. The "Late Night" band leader admitted in a Facebook post that his comments were "dumb" and did not intend to offend anyone.

While on tour with The Roots, Questlove wrote, "Hey @dawnenglehart is it racist for me to write the Sour Tlain? #chipanesedownunder2013" and then posted a video of a local woman with the caption "Ladies and gentlemen, they are talking in tongues". He was exchanging words with Asian music manager Englehart and India-born Padma Lakshmi.

Englehart replied to his post, "Nah you're in The Loots. You're ...Arrowed." Lakshmi, who said that she gets the "yellow pass" anyway, chimed in, "Hahahaha ha! You ruys clack me lup". Questlove also posted a short video of a Japanese man falling asleep in a bullet train and wrote, "McSnoleArot".

In his lengthy apology, Questlove wrote, "Unfortunately, i've offended my asian brothers & sisters with an IG post which i made during my recent tour of japan. ...clearly, i didn't intend to offend anyone (asian or otherwise), clearly, i *thought* that comparis ...on was funny-cute ...and clearly i thought wrong."

He even mentioned Phil Robertson to convince his fans that he is not "mean spirited-xenophobic dumb" like the homophobic "Duck Dynasty" star. He continued, "So, here i am once again, publicly coming to terms with some more of my stupid 'say, say, say' ish. allow me to ask for forgiveness and understanding from anyone that i've offended. I will be better in 2014 (i promise).
