Jennifer Lawrence was said filming a rebellion scene when one machine malfunctioned and spewed dense smoke that caused some actors to choke.

AceShowbiz - Words are, Jennifer Lawrence almost choked to death on the set of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay". According to the National Enquirer (via Showbiz Spy), a "horrifying" incident took place during the production in Atlanta.

A source says the Oscar-winning actress and several other actors were filming a rebellion scene in a long tunnel when a fog machine that was used to make the smoke effect "broke and began spewing so much dense smoke." The source claims that "Jennifer literally disappeared from sight - and everybody panicked" after the machine malfunctioned.

Some of the stars allegedly couldn't find their way out of the blinding smoke and they started coughing and gagging. "An assistant director screamed, 'Shut off the smoke machines, get those big fans running...and get Jennifer out of there!' " the source recalls.

Fortunately, a rescue crew was able to find Lawrence "after several scary minutes." She was "hacking and gagging." The source goes on revealing, "Jennifer's one tough gal, but she looked really shook up, and kept complaining she felt very nauseous - like she was suffering from vertigo."

The final installment of "The Hunger Games" film series is split into two parts, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2", which are filmed back to back. The first part is due November 21, 2014, while the second one will follow in November 2015.

It will follow Katniss Everdeen as she reluctantly leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth return as Katniss, Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne respectively, with Julianne Moore added to the cast to play District 13 leader Alma Coin.
