AceShowbiz - Pregnant Evelyn Lozada revealed that she is "HappiestGirlInTheWorld". The "Basketball Wives" star got engaged to Los Angeles Dodgers player Carl Crawford, who is the father of her impending child, on Christmas Day.
Lozada posted a picture of the huge diamond engagement ring on Instagram and wrote "YES!" underneath it. Her rep told People that Lozada was not expecting a marriage proposal at all but Crawford got down to one knee on Wednesday, December 25 and "took Evelyn by surprise".
The 37-year-old star added, "I'm overjoyed and in complete and utter shock! What a different year and a half it has been - I'm truly happy!" Lozada previously married Chad Ochocinco on Independence day 2012 but the marriage lasted only two months because she accused him of domestic violence. She divorced him in September that year.
Lozada's engagement ring boasts a 14.5 carat square cut diamond by Jason of Beverly Hills. "Carl has been a longtime client of mine and I knew immediately that he was really smitten and in love and wanted to make a statement that would light up the Christmas tree as well as the bride-to-be," store owner Jason Arasheben told People.
Crawford was meticulous in co-designing the ring. Arasheben said the sportsman looked at 10 to 15 stones before picking one and took his time finding the perfect mounting. And when the ring was delivered to him in Arizona, "his face just lit up when he saw it. You could tell they're very much in love. He was excited and nervous."
