'Clash of the Titans 3' Gets Canned
Movie

The third installment of the Perseus movie will move forward only if there is a fresh idea for the new story.

AceShowbiz - The plan to make a third "Clash of the Titans" movie is scrapped. The project which was supposed to be a follow-up to "Wrath of the Titans" is put to sleep following the second movie which failed to do better than the first one and got equally panned by critics.

"Not at this point, but you never know," producer Basil Iwanyk says to IGN of the threequel. "In terms of Clash of the Titans 3, it's one of those situations where we've seen it a million times; a movie will kind of float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back."

"You'd think that there was three and a half, four years of nonstop 'Clash of the Titans' activity, and I think it is, 'Okay, what's the new idea? How do you make it fresh?' You know, a lot of movies have come out in that world, including 'Immortals' and '300'."

He went on, "So there will be a time and place where someone will come up with a great idea for it and how to make it feel different and fresh from the previous ones. Then we'll hopefully move forward on that."

While Sam Worthington's Perseus film is put on hold, Iwanyk is focusing on another Greek mythological film "Gods of Egypt". Directed by Alex Proyas, it stars Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. It is scheduled for 2016 release.
