AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lawrence has beaten Miley Cyrus for Associated Press' Entertainer of the Year in a very close result. The Oscar-winning actress garners one vote higher than the twerking singer in an annual survey of its newspaper and broadcast members and subscribers.

The title Entertainer of the Year is given to someone who had the most influence on entertainment and culture in 2013. There were 70 ballots submitted by editors and news directors. Lawrence won with 15 votes. Cyrus was on the second place with 14, while Netflix placed third with 13.

Popular series "Breaking Bad" received 10 votes, placing the crime drama in the fourth place. Justin Timberlake was in number five. Lawrence joined previous winners such as Adele, Lady GaGa, Tina Fey, Betty White and Taylor Swift.

Lawrence started the year by winning a Best Actress trophy at the Academy Awards for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook". This year, the 23-year-old star also got popular with her appearance in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and "American Hustle". The "Wrecking Ball" singer, meanwhile, made headlines with her provocative music video and stage acts as well as her broken engagement from Liam Hemsworth.
