AceShowbiz - Gabrielle Union is engaged to Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade and she's proud of it. The "Think Like a Man Too" star showed off her engagement ring which has an enormous 8.5 carat cushion cut diamond on top made by Jason of Beverly Hills.
The couple, who have been dating since 2009, announced the engagement on Saturday, December 20. "Sooooo this happened...#Yessss," Union wrote on Instagram and shared a picture of the bling. Wade gushed, "She said YES!!!"
Wade was previously married to Siohvaughn Wade for eight years and is father to her two children. Siohvaughn filed suit against Wade, accusing him of engaging in "sexual foreplay" with Union in front of their two sons, aged eight and two. A spokesperson for Union denied the allegations, with Wade branding the claims "meritless" - and an Illinois judge dismissed the case in court.
Wade himself adores Union and he was not shy to say so. "She makes my eyes sparkle," Wade told Oprah Winfrey last summer. "The biggest time she makes my eyes sparkle is when Zaire (his 11-year-old son from a previous marriage) comes home and homework is a little hard that day, so he's stressing, and she goes to the table with him and she sits down until he gets it."
