'Community' Gets Into Holiday Spirit in Animated Short

December 20, 2013 (7:44 am) GMT
Jeff gets a surprise visit from his Greendale friends in the Christmas-themed short released in anticipation of the fifth season premiere.

There won't be a "" Christmas-themed episode this year since the show won't return until early next year, but the show does celebrate the annual holiday. NBC has just released an animated short titled "Miracle on Jeff's Street" that features the gang's reunion during the holidays.

In the short, Jeff is home alone before Dean, dressing as Santa Claus, breaks through the window on a sleigh pulled by Chang. Dean brings the other members of the Greendale gang, including Britta, Abed, Shirley, Annie and Troy, but it turns out to be just a dream that is shared together by Dean and Chang.

"Community" will return with its fifth season Thursday, January 2 at 8 P.M. with a one-hour premiere on NBC. Series creator Dan Harmon returns as showrunner. Previously released trailers for the new chapter revealed that Jeff would be back to the college as a teacher.
