AceShowbiz - Adele received royal honor from Prince Charles for her "services to music". The "Chasing Pavement" singer was presented with an MBE medal by the royal prince at Buckingham palace on Thursday, December 19.

"It was an honor to be recognized and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people," Adele said in a statement after the ceremony, as quoted by People. "Very posh indeed."

The 25-year-old singer attended the prestigious event in blue long-sleeve Stella McCartney tea dress. She was named Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire along with English musician PJ Harvey.

MBE was created in 1917 by King George V. Prince Charles replaced his mother Queen Elizabeth II who was in the middle of planning holiday festivities at her country home in Sandringham.

Adele's album "21", which was released two years ago, put her among the best-selling female albums of 2013. She said previously that she would release a new album mid 2014.
