Paul Walker, Cory Monteith Are 2013's Most Googled People Worldwide

The late actors joined iPhone 5, Royal Baby and North Korea among others in the top 10 most searched terms of 2013.

AceShowbiz - The recent death of Paul Walker put the actor in the list of most Googled people of 2013 worldwide. He is joined by other deceased celebrities, former South African leader Nelson Mandela and "Glee" star Cory Monteith. Walker and Monteith were also most Googled in the U.S. and U.K.

On Tuesday, December 17, the Internet search provider released the data as part of its 13th annual Google Zeitgeist report but did not detail the number of searches per person. The top 10 "most-searched" queries are based on the volume of searches while trending queries are based on the highest amount of traffic over a sustained period in 2013 compared with 2012.

The top 10 most searched terms in 2013 worldwide beside Walker, Mandela, and Monteith are iPhone 5s, Harlem Shake, Boston Marathon, Royal Baby, Samsung Galaxy s4, PlayStation 4 and North Korea.

Miley Cyrus is the most-searched person on Google this past year in the U.S., followed by Kim Kardashian, Drake, Beyonce Knowles, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. Cyrus' controversial stage act also led "What is twerking?" to top the most searched phrase beginning with "What is...".

Google also released the top 10 most searched movies and television shows in the States. "Man of Steel", "Iron Man 3" and "World War Z" are among the top trending movies while "Breaking Bad", "Game of Thrones" and "Orange Is the New Black" arefound in the TV list.
