In a press release announcing the streaming deal, Netflix details that 'Better Call Saul' follows Saul Goodman 'in the years before he became Walter White's attorney.'

AceShowbiz - Netflix has snatched the international rights for "Breaking Bad" spinoff "Better Call Saul". Under the deal, the new AMC series will become available on the Internet streaming media after it finishes its first season run on the cable channel.

Netflix announced the deal via a press release on December 16, which also confirmed that the show would be a prequel. According to the statement, " 'Better Call Saul' tells the story of mall-based super lawyer Saul Goodman in the years before he became Walter White's attorney. From parking tickets to mass murder, from slip-and-fall to bond fraud, Saul handles it all."

Creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould refused to confirm the timeline of "Better Call Saul" though speculation arose that it would be a prequel. However, Gilligan, who plans to direct the pilot, revealed that it would be more comedic than "Breaking Bad", but still have dramatic elements.

Bob Odenkirk is set to return as Saul Goodman, and Jonathan Banks will reprise his role as Mike Ehrmantraut, Saul's former private detective. Mike could have a bigger role on the spin-off as Gilligan teased, "I could definitely see a version of this where Mike Ehrmantraut is an important part of this series."

The new drama series is expected to debut in late summer or early fall of 2014.
