A family spokesman says that Price passes away at his home in Mount Pleasant, Texas at the age of 87 after long battle with pancreatic cancer.

AceShowbiz - Country legend Ray Price, who is popular for his hits such as "I Won't Mention It Again", "Soft Rain" and "You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me", has passed away. Bill Mack, who has been acting as the family's spokesperson in recent days, announced that Price died on Monday, December 16 at his home in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He was 87.
Reuters additionally quoted a statement from a funeral home which confirmed the singer's passing. "Ray Price, legendary country music artist, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013, at his home in Mount Pleasant, Texas," read a statement from the Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.
The East Texas Medical Center in Tyler said that Price was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011. The disease later spread to his liver, intestines and lungs. On Thursday, he was released from the hospital and entered hospice care.
Prior to his death, the Country Music Hall of Famer had a message to his fans. "I love my fans and have devoted my life to reaching out to them. I appreciate their support all these years, and I hope I haven't let them down. I am at peace. I love Jesus. I'm going to be just fine. Don't worry about me. I'll see you again one day," he said.
Earlier on Sunday, false reports saying that Price had passed away emerged online. His son Cliff even wrote in a Facebook post saying that he "heard" his father had passed away. He later removed the post and said that he was "deceived by some cruel people."
Price, who made his first record in 1949 and kept singing into his 70, had seven No. 1 hits and more than 100 titles on the Billboard country chart. His popular songs included "Crazy Arms", "Release Me", "Night Life", "City Lights" and many others.
