AceShowbiz - Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton are big winners at the fourth annual American Country Awards. They bagged multiple prizes, including the top Artist of the Year for the former and the coveted Album of the Year for the latter, at the Tuesday, December 10 event hosted by Trace Adkins and Danica Patrick.
Bryan won Artist of the Year against Shelton, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Taylor Swift. He beat Shelton and Aldean once again, besides toppling Kenny Chesney and Eric Church, in taking home the title of Male Artist of the Year. He also snatched Touring Artist of the Year prize.
Losing twice to Bryan, Shelton redeemed himself by collecting four gongs in other categories. In addition to winning Album of the Year for "Based on a True Story...", he took home Single of the Year by a Male Artist, Music Video of the Year, and Music Video of the Year by a Male Artist, all thanks to "Sure Be Cool If You Did".
His wife Miranda Lambert was not empty-handed as well. The Pistol Annies member managed to collect two awards. She won Female Artist of the Year against Swift, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Sheryl Crow. Her single "Mama's Broken Heart" gave her second win for Single by a Female Artist.
Swift, who led the nomination pack, won at least two out of the eight categories she was nominated. Her collaboration with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban in "Highway Don't Care" earned her Single and Music Video by a Vocal Collaboration. She added another prize by receiving the title of Worldwide Artist.
Florida Georgia Line won New Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Radio Track of the Year, and Music Video by a New Artist among others. Lady Antebellum bagged Duo or Group of the Year and Single by a Duo or Group. Other winners included Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley and Lee Brice.
