The cast and crew of the NBC long-running legal drama give a sweet send-off to the Captain Donald Cragen depicter on his last day on the set.

AceShowbiz - Another "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" veteran is departing the show. After left by Richard Belzer earlier this season, the crime drama series will soon bid adieu to Dann Florek who has portrayed Captain Donald Cragen since the first episode in 1999.

The actor announced his exit via Twitter. "Friday was the last day 4 Cragen/Florek. It was a sweet send off! But he'll live on in syndication land 4 evah!" so he wrote on Monday, December 9.

Showrunner Warren Leight also tweeted photos from the set, with one photo capturing one of the final scenes shot with Florek. Another picture shows the cast, including Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T, saluting Florek.

Florek first portrayed Cragen in the first season of the original "Law & Order" but he departed the show after its third season. The vet actor then reprised his role in 1998's TV movie "Exiled: A Law & Order Movie" before creator Dick Wolf brought him back in permanent basis on "SVU".

His final episode will air in January.
