Due to her antics both on and off stage, Cyrus had entered two qualifications, MTV's most popular artist and TIME's readers-voted people of the year.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus has certainly made a buzz this year. The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker's name popped up twice on Monday, December 9 as MTV's Artist of the Year and TIME's Top 10 finalist of Person of the Year.

Cyrus' explicit stage act with Robin Thicke at MTV Video Music Awards in August was one of the year's most talked about cultural events, MTV said. The VMA duet on "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines" was the most watched video on MTV websites while an artist site devoted to Cyrus had more visits than any other artist's.

Meanwhile, TIME revealed the 2013 finalists which were selected through a poll on "Today" show. "Power is not just political. It can be cultural. It can be spiritual. She came in like a wrecking ball ...the most watched video of the year and at a time when we are living with an explosion of exhibitionism, since we all now carry cameras with us at all times, she is a symbol," the magazine's managing editor Nancy Gibbs said about Cyrus' inclusion.

Back on November 27, Cyrus led the votes with 28 percent, ahead of NSA defense contractor Edward Snowden and Chief Minister of the state of Gujarat Narendra Modi. The winner will eventually be selected by TIME's editor and revealed on Wednesday, December 11.

Cyrus has also been announced as one of Barbara Walter's Most Fascinating People this year, joining Snowden, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian among others.
