Martha Levinson gets into an icy exchange with The Dowager Countess as soon as she arrives in England, just in time for Lady Rose's 'coming out.'

AceShowbiz - As it's getting closer to Christmas, the U.K.'s ITV shares a trailer for "Downton Abbey" Christmas episode. The video opens with Lady Cora's mother Martha Levinson, played by Shirley MacLaine, arriving at the Crawleys' residence.

"The gang's all here!" Martha cheerfully says, which is responded with a snarky comment by The Dowager Countess, "Is that American for hello?" Later at the end of the snippet, Martha tells the Dowager, "My world is coming nearer, and your world is slipping further and further away."

The two ladies' icy exchange aside, the family is excited for a debutante ball at Buckingham Palace where Lady Rose will be presented to the King as part of her "coming out." She is seen dancing with the Prince of Wales, played by Oliver Dimsdale.

Lady Mary's two suitors continue to vie for her attention. She is dancing with Tom Cullen's Lord Gillingham at the ball while Julian Ovenden's Charles Blake looks on.

The "Downton Abbey" Christmas special will air on December 25 at 8:30 P.M. on ITV in the U.K. Paul Giamatti will make his debut as Cora's playboy brother Harold, who comes from New York.
