The Chiwetel Ejiofor starrer bags three awards from Boston Society of Film Critics and gets six prizes from Boston Online Film Critics.

AceShowbiz - "12 Years a Slave" dominates both Boston Society of Film Critics and Boston Online Film Critics Awards this year. The epic historical slavery drama win Best Picture, Best Director (Steve McQueen) and Best Actor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) in the voting held by the two associations on Sunday, December 8.
On top of that the adaptation of Solomon Northup's autobiography bags three more coveted prizes in the Boston Online Critics. The movie sweeps Best Editing, Best Original Score and Best Supporting Actress for its star Lupita Nyong'o.
Best Supporting Actress goes to June Squibb ("Nebraska"), and Best Supporting Actor goes to the late James Gandolfini ("Enough Said") in the Boston Society of Film Critics. Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club") wins Best Supporting Actor in the Boston Online Film Critics.
Cate Blanchett wins Best Actress from the two events, thanks to her role in Woody Allen's dramedy "Blue Jasmine". It marks at least her fifth win in the category from Critics awards. The others are from Los Angeles Film Critics, New York Film Critics Circle, and New York Film Critics Online.
